Banks

TSB Bank

58 High Street Harlesden, London NW10 4LP, UK – 020 8790 9974

NOTE: Review of Branch, not of Bank. I've lived in the area and been in and out of the bank many times. Although there are queues in the morning, it's to be expected. The staff is always as quick as they can, and they sometimes deal with people that barely speak any English. The ATMs outside and inside are very rarely out of service. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. I have once been in need of a consultation and was offered a session within the next hour, on a Saturday. With regard to my account, I work with a wonderful lady who has always been more than happy to answer all my questions and guide me through whatever I wanted done. When I opened my account, I used my Driver's License and Passport. They accept the initial NINo confirmation letter as proof of address as well, in case any newcomers are reading this. Highly recommend.

This bank is located conveniently near my house, which is why I signed up with them. My main problem with the bank though is that the staff are miserable, and every time you ask them for help it's almost as though they sigh at the burden of your presence. With that said, they do seem fairly trustworthy, and the bank is somewhat reputable. Therefore, I don't feel unsafe depositing my money here. I just wish they would learn to love life again, because it's incredibly depressing inside this shop. I know that Harlesden isn't the brightest part of London - but it's not as bad as the staff make it feel.

Ladbroke Grove Dental

I am very happy with my dentist. I am terrified of dentists so it took me long time to get the courage to go there. But my doctor was super friendly and he took the time to make sure I am alright. Made it through and now I can go for the followup appointments without fear. I appreciate how nice the doctor was. I totally recommend. He explained in details everything he was going to do, all the steps and procedures.

Thank you all for a wonderful service under very difficult circumstances. You have done wonders with my teeth. I'm especially happy with Dr Amish and Vikas who have been extremely patient and attentive The support from the front desk is also appreciated - the girls are always very Willing to accommodate me with the appointments. THANK YOU.

The Golborne Medical Centre

12-16 Golborne Rd, North Kensington, London W10 5PG, UK – 020 8969 2058

Very good practice. I have been a patient here for 15+ years and the doctors, nurses and receptionists are very good and friendly

I have been a patient here for my whole life and have very complex needs and many consultants and hospital Drs as well. This surgery are efficient and keeps all my other doctors involved so I dont need to run around and make sure everyone is up todate. The doctors listen well and try their absolute best to help and in my case to prevent relapses. All drs are extremely professional and fair. The reception is great and the only down side is waiting times but I aso understand that every body needs to be seen so I forgive that.

Hammersmith Hospital

Du Cane Rd, Shepherd's Bush, London W12 0HS, UK – 020 3313 1000

Consistently good experiences here. Friendly and knowledgable staff throughout. The building is maze-like, so allow yourself some extra time when visiting! The Drexciyan subway was a nice surprise.

My clinic has just been moved here from Charing Cross hospital. First impressions were that Hammersmith Hospital is a lot older building, and it wasn't very clear how to get to Outpatients from the reception entrance. After some accurate directions from a security man, I found where I needed to be. Check in is by touch screen and gives information on where to sit. The announcement system to call patients is very good. It combines a voice message, with a large screen display telling you which room to go to. Seating was comfortable and well laid out. Appointments were running around 30 minutes late, but at least there are white boards showing the expected delay and these are updated frequently. Much better than any other hospital I've been to. Waiting time for a blood test was very long. I took number 49 when 25 was shown on the screen. I waited around 40 minutes to be seen. It is sensible to use that time to book your next appointment. Queueing again was rather long. This time around 15 minutes. I got the impression that the staff were trying their best to provide a good service. They appeared to be working as quickly as possible, but the computer systems in operation seem to be slow and cumbersome to enter data into. One fact that wasn't dealt with, was that although there was a water dispenser available, the cups had run out. Next time I'll take a bottle to fill up. Parking is available at the front of the hospital, but I'm not sure what it's like as I used a scooter to travel there. There is dedicated solo motorcycle parking by the entrance, and also cycle racks. Both are convenient and free to use. The nearest tube station is East Acton and there are bus services running right outside the hospital. I know one route goes via Shepherd's Bush and Hammersmith.

I want to praise please today the excellent patient service from Ms Lizz C., medical health advisor from Patrick Clement Department, 2nd floor. She helped me to make the best option of the reason I went there, and not just this, even further advices as well. She understood very well why I was here and she made me smile today, and also I will come with much confidence for the next visit. Please I want to recommend this wonderful lady with a right attitude! Thanks

A good clean hospital that gave my mother an emergency breast surgery operation. I waited overnight to take her home after her recovery, & the staff couldn't have been better. Wonderful doctors, kind nurses (please give them a rise above inflation) even the porters & staff in the shop had a kind word & a smile. Thank you ,thank you , thank you xxx

Visites on Monday night. Very friendly staffs. Very nice to us and feel being well respected. Even though it was noisy due to a birthday party, chicken wings were a bit burned, but I still would like to pay a second visit for the sake of these 2 nice waitresses. Hopefully, next time it will be better and I will consider change the rating. P.S. 2 waitresses are a little short staffed for a Monday night with a birthday party.

I have always been a fan of Pizza Hut's Margherita Pizza's. They are still tasty one slight moan is that I have noticed that the portion size compared to the relative price paid for is quite shocking. Ordered a Β£24 meal deal only to get 6 slices of pizza to share amongst 2 people. Would recommend for the taste and the service was good also but just a pity that portion sizes have been dramatically reduced :(

Anar Persian Restaurant

Amazing waitress she always very kind and fast, good food and price is good too. Always enjoying the food there.

First visit here, one item on menu not available when ordered. 5oz steak was not cooked medium to well done as asked, a little under cooked. However, overall a nice meal with family. Very pleasant attentive waiter. I would visit again.

Ark Academy

Bridge Rd, Wembley HA9 9JP, UK – 020 8385 4370

I'm going to give this school a fair review. Going to this school isn't the most fun thing in the world, but that might just be the fact that it's school in the first place- school can way us down on our real aspirations and dreams, and I'd say this school doesn't help with this controversial dilemma. I've always dreamt of becoming an artist and game designer, and, for one, the art GCSEs do seem to look more focused on realistic drawing, which is not my thing at all- and, additionally, the Art department barely has any teachers (3 or 4 from my knowledge, and only 2 actually teaching the classes) and the classes are mixed rather than going from the students with the lowest grades to the highest grades. This makes it very hard for me to focus on some of these mixed subjects as some of the students in this school don't have the best attitude. DT and Drama + Music (now known as Expressive Arts, a mix of both) are probably just as pushed aside as Art, despite them having some very unique and creditable department design; I have to give the builders and designers some kudos for this, but the problem is that these subjects should have just about as much work put into them as the buildings and rooms- all people should be able to learn about what they'd like to. The school puts too much focus on their main subjects. This school is supposedly a 'Maths Specialist School' I honestly don't see where it shines. Maths at this school can be a bore because a lot of things we learn in it we will never have to use in life. What is the purpose of algebra? Bragging rights? Ark, don't expect all of your students to want to become mathematicians. English is really where this school specialises- although it may not be everyone's favourite. One of the English teachers, Miss Hanna, has started a project on her Youtube channel which helps students in Key Stage 3 learn their grammar, and she also recently won Β£11,000 in a competition against teachers in England, and this will definitely help the school become more focused on this subject. This money can help her fund the project and let her other ideas for the Youtube series come to pass- if your child loves English, this school may be for them in, at latest, a year's time. A list of flaws for this school would be quite long, but here we go: - The toilets are always dirty and disgusting. - Some of the teachers in this school are either too kind or too strict. This school is about 'Civitas' (kindness) but some of the student's peers don't even seem to follow it. - The 'no phone' policy is quite unforgiving. If a phone goes off in a locker, the teachers won't let you/ your child off. Hey, at least they put it away and not in their bag. If anything happens between a child and a phone, the student will get a 90 minute detention (be thankful that's the limit here). - Some of the students are not getting the help they need with issues they face. Once I was given some light therapy on my anxiety, and the head of year hasn't checked on me since. I don't think I'd need it again, but it seems a bit careless. - The kids here won't stop making inappropriate noises. I think if anyone does it they should get an instant 45 minute detention- it's immature and sexist. - The computers can only be used for homework. Kids needs a break from school at lunchtime, and it's a bit harsh to not let them. Some of the teachers monitoring the computers won't even let me art programs, whether or not it's meant to be a humorous piece or not. I'm tired and I should be doing my homework. I would continue, but my hands hurt. Bye. Wow. I have the longest review. How convenient. I hope you thought it was helpful. I will add to it but I feel like my hands are going to run away from my wrist and enjoy their own life. Hand odyssey. How weird. I'm tired. Fullstop.
