Nursery and Preschools

Nicoll Road Nursery

40 Nicoll Rd, London NW10 9AB, UK – 020 8961 6648

Both our daughters went there. Esha and Satya absolutely loved it. The caring nature of the staff is the best thing about the nursery. Chanece the manager is very hands on and knows all the children so well and they all love her. The garden must also be seen to believe!!!

My son started the nursery just under a year ago and within 2-4weeks of him starting he made massive improvements in his speech and social skills with other children. The staff are very welcoming, always keep you updated and work with your child in every way either it be starting to potty train or teaching a child the basics of writing and recognition of colours and letters. I am really happy with the nursery and would/have recommend this nursery to other parents and friends. Also the Management is Fantastic!!!! 5/5 stars!!!!

Bumble Bees Day Nursery Ltd

21 Inglis Rd, London W5 3RJ, UK – 020 8992 6263

As a current long serving staff member, it is a pleasure working at bumble bees. The multi cultural background of the staff and children is a pleasure to see and be a part of. The management is amazing and are extremely caring about the staff, they support and help us grow professionally. It is a pleasure to have had a chance to meet so many amazing people and to be a part of a team that takes so much pride in looking after all the children in our care. The nursery is committed to ensuring that the well being of children in our care is our top priority and that they are looked after, supported and above all loved.

I have known Dalia and the team since 2010, my daughter was only 1 when she joined Bumble Bee nursery. Seven years on and my daughter still talks about how much fun she had at nursery and how deeply she loves them. During her 3 years at Bumble Bee, she made a great group of friends, some of which are still dear friends not just with my daughter, but the family as well. The loving and friendly environment at Bumble Bee invites people to feel comfortable and creates wonderful experiences for everyone around. When my daughter left for school, she was a confident and organised girl, ready for reception, until today she remains one of the best at her class! A lot of that can be credited to Bumble Bee management and their staff. Now my son is 3 and has been going to Bumble bee since he was 1. He feels the love from the staff as he is always talking about them. He loves singing and playing with all his friends at nursery. Sadly, he has only one year to go and become the big boy mummy doesn’t want him to be! I know Bumble Bee team will help him to be ready for next year adventure as well as preparing me to be ready too. So, if you are looking for a warm, caring, and loving environment for your child, then bring him/her to Bumble Bee. The staff is caring, fun and have the best knowledge on children's education. They understand children individual needs and can help parents to also understand the different phases of children. Bumble Bee is family! – Just ask my kids :-)

Abbey Nursery School

Cricklewood Baptist Church/Sneyd Rd, London NW2 6AN, UK – 020 8208 2202

All three of my children have enjoyed Abbey Nursery. It's very well run and the staff are friendly and approachable. And it has an Outstanding Ofsted Report.

Primary and Secondary Schools

Spanish Institute

317-318 Portobello Rd, London W10 5SZ, UK – 020 8969 2664

On this historic farming tract and later a Victorian convent now a Spanish language educational complex. Incongruous Medieval French-styled round towers sheltered behind the wall. A notable diversion from the norm along this strip.

Great education standards.

Ark Academy

Bridge Rd, Wembley HA9 9JP, UK – 020 8385 4370

I'm going to give this school a fair review. Going to this school isn't the most fun thing in the world, but that might just be the fact that it's school in the first place- school can way us down on our real aspirations and dreams, and I'd say this school doesn't help with this controversial dilemma. I've always dreamt of becoming an artist and game designer, and, for one, the art GCSEs do seem to look more focused on realistic drawing, which is not my thing at all- and, additionally, the Art department barely has any teachers (3 or 4 from my knowledge, and only 2 actually teaching the classes) and the classes are mixed rather than going from the students with the lowest grades to the highest grades. This makes it very hard for me to focus on some of these mixed subjects as some of the students in this school don't have the best attitude. DT and Drama + Music (now known as Expressive Arts, a mix of both) are probably just as pushed aside as Art, despite them having some very unique and creditable department design; I have to give the builders and designers some kudos for this, but the problem is that these subjects should have just about as much work put into them as the buildings and rooms- all people should be able to learn about what they'd like to. The school puts too much focus on their main subjects. This school is supposedly a 'Maths Specialist School' I honestly don't see where it shines. Maths at this school can be a bore because a lot of things we learn in it we will never have to use in life. What is the purpose of algebra? Bragging rights? Ark, don't expect all of your students to want to become mathematicians. English is really where this school specialises- although it may not be everyone's favourite. One of the English teachers, Miss Hanna, has started a project on her Youtube channel which helps students in Key Stage 3 learn their grammar, and she also recently won £11,000 in a competition against teachers in England, and this will definitely help the school become more focused on this subject. This money can help her fund the project and let her other ideas for the Youtube series come to pass- if your child loves English, this school may be for them in, at latest, a year's time. A list of flaws for this school would be quite long, but here we go: - The toilets are always dirty and disgusting. - Some of the teachers in this school are either too kind or too strict. This school is about 'Civitas' (kindness) but some of the student's peers don't even seem to follow it. - The 'no phone' policy is quite unforgiving. If a phone goes off in a locker, the teachers won't let you/ your child off. Hey, at least they put it away and not in their bag. If anything happens between a child and a phone, the student will get a 90 minute detention (be thankful that's the limit here). - Some of the students are not getting the help they need with issues they face. Once I was given some light therapy on my anxiety, and the head of year hasn't checked on me since. I don't think I'd need it again, but it seems a bit careless. - The kids here won't stop making inappropriate noises. I think if anyone does it they should get an instant 45 minute detention- it's immature and sexist. - The computers can only be used for homework. Kids needs a break from school at lunchtime, and it's a bit harsh to not let them. Some of the teachers monitoring the computers won't even let me art programs, whether or not it's meant to be a humorous piece or not. I'm tired and I should be doing my homework. I would continue, but my hands hurt. Bye. Wow. I have the longest review. How convenient. I hope you thought it was helpful. I will add to it but I feel like my hands are going to run away from my wrist and enjoy their own life. Hand odyssey. How weird. I'm tired. Fullstop.

It is one of the good school in the Brent. My daughter was enjoying so much there.

Anson Primary School

70 Anson Rd, London NW2 6AD, UK – 020 8452 8552

Anson is the best school I've ever been to (even though I it's my only primary school). They taught me very well. They gave me great confidence in my work. All teachers are kind.

Anson is my favourite place. Most teachers are kind and loving. Taught me very well. That I got a very high sats report. I would choose Anson over any school anytime.

Saint Christopher's School

We enrolled our son last September (2015) in reception this is after a harrowing time settling him in Montessori where he could never settle . But since he has joined this school and class of mrs Foster she has woven magic and he now looks forward to go to school, he loves Mrs Foster and has developed into a confident , young bright lad who has come a long way. Mrs Foster has ensured personal attention for him to develop motor skills , interpersonal and others and has motivated him to do better each day. I can't praise mrs Foster enough for her patience , her involvement And her attention to the T. I will recommend this school highly cause the foundation depends on good teachers and this school has the best ones. Sherry (mother)
