My clinic has just been moved here from Charing Cross hospital. First impressions were that Hammersmith Hospital is a lot older building, and it wasn't very clear how to get to Outpatients from the reception entrance. After some accurate directions from a security man, I found where I needed to be. Check in is by touch screen and gives information on where to sit. The announcement system to call patients is very good. It combines a voice message, with a large screen display telling you which room to go to. Seating was comfortable and well laid out. Appointments were running around 30 minutes late, but at least there are white boards showing the expected delay and these are updated frequently. Much better than any other hospital I've been to. Waiting time for a blood test was very long. I took number 49 when 25 was shown on the screen. I waited around 40 minutes to be seen. It is sensible to use that time to book your next appointment. Queueing again was rather long. This time around 15 minutes. I got the impression that the staff were trying their best to provide a good service. They appeared to be working as quickly as possible, but the computer systems in operation seem to be slow and cumbersome to enter data into. One fact that wasn't dealt with, was that although there was a water dispenser available, the cups had run out. Next time I'll take a bottle to fill up. Parking is available at the front of the hospital, but I'm not sure what it's like as I used a scooter to travel there. There is dedicated solo motorcycle parking by the entrance, and also cycle racks. Both are convenient and free to use.
Clean and well organised, I myself and my 2 brothers, and sister were born here. Great experience and loved the help they have offered. In my opinion one of the best hospitals for birth :) in London.

Outstanding; caring professionals. I have received the best care I could imagine on arrival of our son. The midwives in the centre were excellent and delivered our baby safely although the birth was not an easy one. Post natal care in the birth centre was excellent. Even after being discharged I could count on them and give a call to a birth centre to ask for an advice when needed. We are both very grateful to all staff of the birth centre.
I gave birth to my daughter here and it was high risk due to my heart condition. The actual delivery I feel the staff were attentive and empathetic but after for 5 days I was surrounded by cold nurses who neglected me so badly that I could have died of sepsis. I had an infected episiotomy that was extremely painful even with painkillers and I kept asking for it to be looked at and the nurses just kept saying it was fine and giving me ice packs. I couldn’t sit or stand for 5 days and the evening after we left my boyfriend had to take me to the A&e where they confirmed an infection just by looking at it. I called the maternity unit in the Queen Charlotte hospital I was in to tell them what happened and one of the nurses who was the only one that seemed empathetic (although she never suspected I had an infection) answered the phone and seemed genuinely sorry about what happened.

A good clean hospital that gave my mother an emergency breast surgery operation. I waited overnight to take her home after her recovery, & the staff couldn't have been better. Wonderful doctors, kind nurses (please give them a rise above inflation) even the porters & staff in the shop had a kind word & a smile. Thank you ,thank you , thank you xxx
Very good experience at this hospital's urology and CT department! Really professional doctors and nurses! Clean and modern building!
